Buggenie Upgrade Fails

Post by catstoday » Thu Dec 22, 2016 3:47 pm

Hi,

I'm having issues updating thebuggenie from 4.1.0 to 4.1.10. The installation was initially created using Softaculous, but that is no longer an option for me (I upgraded my hosting and they took that away). I tried following the instructions provided, but the site is now misconfigured.

http://catstoday.com/tracker

Edit: the default .htaccess file is causing the "index.php" page not to be picked up as the default. If I remove this file from the site, the page loads properly. However, the problem with the upgrade persists. When I click through the upgrade wizard, the final page still redirects to "/tracker/public/upgrade" which is not there and results in a "404 page not found".

Visiting that URL issues a "404 page not found" error as the index.php does not come up as the default page (the default .htaccess file in the "public" folder is responsible for this -- if I take that out, the index.php loads up fine). If I enter the full URL http://catstoday.com/tracker/index.php I get the upgrade dialogs, but the upgrade process does not complete. It redirects to http://catstoday.com/tracker/public/update which is not a page and results in a "404 page not found" error.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,
Tom

Just FYI, I was able to fix my own problem. Pretty obvious once I got in touch with my host's tech support and had another brain to bounce ideas off of.

The issue was due to my buggenie installation using a subfolder path. I had to update the RewriteBase rule in the .htaccess file in the buggenie/public directory to have the correct relative path to the public folder. Once I did that everything was hunky-dorey.
