E-mail from "Forgot password" has broken links

Post by mhernandezm » Mon Mar 13, 2017 2:44 pm

The e-mail sent from the "Forgot password" option in the login screen has broken links.
The links are missing the server part, like this:

Hi, <username>
A request was made to reset your password for your user account at /thebuggenie/
To change your password, click the following one-time password reset link: /thebuggenie/reset/password/<username>/2258d51eec810022f2d2651858ed8b17c

instead of

Hi, <username>
A request was made to reset your password for your user account at http://<server>/thebuggenie/
To change your password, click the following one-time password reset link: http://<server>/thebuggenie/reset/password/<username>/2258d51eec810022f2d2651858ed8b17c

At the moment, the user has to be instructed to complete the URL directly in the browser address bar, which is highly inconvenient.
I know I can edit the template, but that would probably be a bad solution that will get broken again with any update.
I'm using a recently installed The Bug Genie, version 4.1.13.

Any clue? Maybe I need to configure the server name somewhere?

Thanks in advance

The answer was that I was missing the Configuration > Email Communication > Issue tracker URL parameter.
It was empty, but the input placeholder was showing the correct site URL in light gray, which made me believe that it was automatically filled and disabled.
Not really a bug but an UI glitch that could be solved easily simply changing the placeholder from

"http://<server name>"

to something like

"e.g.: http://<server name>"

or similar.

Thanks, that's valuable feedback.
