Re: creating new project for the first time
Hi, this is a bug with the current open source edition, but fixed in the latest development version. If you are able to, you can download the latest development version from github. You can also disable the elevated login prompt to bypass this issue.

Re: Expand the release version numbering or remove it
Hi
This is an improvement we've been thinking about for a while. It's not available right now, but it may be available in a future release.

Re: Is there a way to link issues together
Yes, that's possible, but the reason you don't see it immediately is that it's a workflow action that's only available in workflow transitions. Re: Set "Targetted for" and other parameters when creating an issue.
Also, when you have created new issue type schemes and/or workflow schemes they can be selected on a per project basis in the project settings. Issue type schemes can be switched with a toggle workflow schemes requires a small move operation (all done within the project configuration).

Re: Set "Targetted for" and other parameters when creating an issue.
Yes, the default workflow and issue type schemes are not editable. We've done this to prevent there being no usable configurations if people mess up the settings.
To start, just copy one of the default workflows or issue type schemes and you can edit anything you want.

Re: Set "Targetted for" and other parameters when creating an issue.
It might not be the most obvious place to look, but see the configuration section for issue type schemes. An issue type scheme is what configures which fields are available visible and reportable for different issue types, and each project can use a predefined or project-specific issue type scheme. ...
